EDIT: The closing date has been extended back to Feb 1st 2020.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well, here we are. The final countdown to 2020, who else is excited/terrified?

In the holiday spirit, I've decided to open up some commissions for yous! Because I'm still new at this game, I've decided to make these comms Pay What You Want, rather than giving fixed prices. This way everyone has a shot at these, even if money is tight for them.

I have 5 slots open currently, but if the situation allows it then I may open more slots in the future. These comms will officially close on January 1st, 2020.

[AT] Soul of Silver
Starcaller [Gift]

To request a commission, please DM me with the following information:

-Your name/username;

  • -Your email address (for PayPal invoice);

  • -Character reference (only if you're wanting one/more of your characters in the piece);

  • -Details of the piece (i.e. background, pose and/or expression of the character/s, whether the comm is a headshot/halfbody/fullbody, etc.)

Along with these details, please include your suggested price for the piece. If the price seems fair based on the complexity of the piece (I'm pretty open on this, keep in mind) then you will be given a slot and added to the queue. Otherwise, the price or details of the commission will need to be negotiated.

If you are given a slot, you will be sent a PayPal invoice via email shortly afterward. This invoice will need to be paid within 7 days, else you will lose the slot and have to begin the process all over again.

What I will draw:

-Dragons (I'm best at these);

-Canines/felids;

-Landscape backgrounds

What I will not draw:

Sakura

-Anything sexual or suggestive (Keeping it SFW here);

-Excessive blood/gore;

-Religious or hate-related themes

-Anthros or humans (wanting to get to these, but for the moment I lack the skills needed for these);

Slots taken: 1) YeOldeJames (Discord)

So, 2019... What an interesting year this has been thus far.

I've certainly experienced a lot of change this year, and these changes have helped me in many ways, both personally and spiritually. This year marked the beginning of my undergraduate study at university, and recent weeks have seen the end of the first of 3 years come to pass. I'm pleased to say that, either by good fortune or divine intervention, I have managed to finish this first year with high grades, and a stronger sense of direction for how I plan to continue my study from here onwards.

2019 has also brought about a fair share of adventure in other respects. My bravery was tested yet again as I went with my Dad on a trip to the Waitomo Caves, which included a 100m abseil over nothing but air, several hours spent underground, and a 30m ascent via a ladder. I am soon to embark on yet another adventure in a couple weeks' time when I finally visit the South Island for the first time in my life. I'll finally get to see my Mum and younger brother in person for the first time in more than 6 months and get to explore new regions of a country that has been my whole world since birth.

Life as an independent has brought about its own trials and tribulations, and in this past year, I have been brought to face several of them. There are still more yet to come, however. In the new year, I plan to move to a new flat; Hopefully, one less messy/run down and possibly closer to campus. I also need to get around to buying myself a new bike, as it would be more cost-efficient than continuing to use the busses and Lime scooters, as I have been throughout this year. These ambitions will require me to improve my ability to manage my finances, which in turn have been somewhat reduced due to my student allowance not being available during the summer holidays, alongside having reduced hours at work.

However, this year has also helped teach me to reap benefit from adversity. Reduced income may yet serve as an incentive for me to reattempt putting my art up for commission. I have managed to somewhat expand my social media audience via twitter, and I plan on re-establishing and strengthening my viewership by starting new art projects, and by attempting to expand my abilities into new areas.

2019 has been very much a transformative year for me, but 2020 may yet prove to be even more so. I am looking forward to what changes and challenges the future may bring, and so as we are soon to bid farewell to this year, I wish to express my gratitude towards those people and events which have helped to make this year one worth remembering, and to all those reading these words I extend my best wishes for the future as well.

Thank you for reading,

-NightHunter

Awesome news!

1 min read
Okay, so in Te Awamutu there's this art festival coming up next month called "Artists At Work" where people can artists get to work on a current project in a public spot and viewers get to see artists in action and chat with them, etc.

So I got in contact with the event organiser, and it is now confirmed that I will be participating in this festival as an artist!!

I'm so excited/nervous right now, as this will be the first time I've actually participated in something like this. But, I am still looking forward to putting myself and my art more out there.

I also designed some business cards for the event, which I think look cool.
Anyway, I'll keep you all updated as this unfolds. :D

Ngaa mihi,
